この洋楽で英会話を学ぶのは、難しいかもしれませんが、懐かしい歌を見つけましたので、紹介します。ビデオを見ていただければ、イエ～イと思わず言いたくなるかもしれません（笑）歌詞も掲載しているのでトライしてください。

一昔前、まだ、何を食べても腹の周りに脂肪が残らなかった90年代前半。この曲がたまにナイトクラブ（いわゆるディスコですか・・・）でかかることがありました。78年の曲なので、20代前半だった私の年代は知るはずもないのですが、これがかかると、ほとんどの人間が踊り始めましたね。

これを口ずさみ、踊りながら英語を覚えるのも、一興かと思います。楽しくなければ、続かない。踊って覚える英会話として、いかがでしょうか。

この歌は、ノッティングヒルの恋人の挿入歌(主題歌？)でした。また、タイミングよくこの歌がバシッと流れるんですよね。

ヒューグラントが、プレスカンファレンスを開いているジュリアロバーツの元へ行きます。ある記者が、ジュリアロバーツ扮するアナというハリウッドスターに「あとどれくらいイギリスに滞在予定ですか？」と聞きます。そして、アナは「今回は滞在はしません。今夜発ちます。」と返事をする。

そして、最後の質問というときに駆けつけたヒューグラントが、記者に成りすまして個人的な質問をする。そして、

「Mr. Thacker realized that he had been a daft prick and got down on his knees and begged you to reconsider if you would... in fact... reconsider.」

（もし、Thacker（彼の名前ですが、ここでは記者に成りすましているので第3者的に表現）さんが、自分はアホなやつやったと気づいて、あなたの前にひざまずいて、考え直してくれって、必死こいてお願いしてきたら、（彼との今後を）考え直されますか？）

と、聞きます。

そうすると、アナは、「Yes, I believe I would.」といいます。

そして、アナは、隣にいるおっちゃんに何か耳打ちし、そのおっちゃんが、「あとどれくらいイギリスに滞在予定ですか？」と質問した記者に、同じ質問をしてくれっていいます。

するその記者が、「あとどれくらいイギリスに滞在予定ですか？」とアナに聞きます。

ジュリアロバーツのショット、そして、ヒューグラントのショットそして、再びジュリアロバーツにカメラが当てられ、ズームインし始めたところで、ジュリアロバーツが、

「Indefinitely」

と答えます。

Indefinitelyは、「無期限」ということですが、いつまで滞在しますか？と聞かれて、無期限って答えると日本語だと変ですね。「ずっと」というのも、雰囲気が伝わってきません。

とにかく、Indefinitelyっていうまでの間がすばらしくよく、Indefinitelyの後に、挿入歌の「She」がバーンと入る。すばらしすぎますね。

を開いている歌っている人は、 ELVIS COSTELLOという人なのですが、結構おっちゃんでちょっとびっくりしてしまいました。


しかし、これはすばらしい歌です。世の男性諸君、カラオケでこれを歌えるようにしておけば、女の子にもてるかもしれません。動機がちょっと不純ですが、こういう動機も英会話上達には必要です！

オスカーをとったこともあるHolly Hunter　（ホリー・ハンター）がテレビドラマに出ている人は多いと思います。あのHolly Hunterがドラマに出るってすごいなぁ~と思いつつ、ドラマはあまり見ていません（笑）・・・ちょっと前からかっちょええなぁ～と思いながらこのCMを見ていました。


ホリー・ハンターが"Let's Roll!"と言って歌が始まるのですが、そこがメチャクチャかっこいい。残念ながら 探しても「Let's Roll！」が見つかりません。しかし、歌を見つけました。かっこいい！と思う方は英語で覚えてみるのも英語上達の秘訣です。


歌詞を探したのですが、まだ見つかっていません。見つけ次第アップします。
