「今週のProverb」も短いですが、スコーンと来るものです。
「mind」を日本語訳する時、しっくり来る日本語を探すのが非
常に難しいんです。ここもそうです。
では、Cambridge Online Dictionary ではどう説明しているのでしょうか？
「mind」: the part of a person that enables a person to think, feel emotions and be aware of things:
「人が、考えたり、感情を感じたり、自分の周りのものを意識できる部分」を「mind」と言うようです。
「英辞郎」の検索結果を見て下さい。

日本語訳が沢山載っていますね。
これを全て覚えるのではなく、こういう意味なんだなと感じてく
ださい。
「wish」も非常に訳が難しいです。
では、辞書ではどうなっているでしょうか？

これも沢山あります。私は感覚的にwishは「こうだったらいいなぁ～」と言う意味を含む希望を表現する語と認識しています。
一つ一つ日本語訳を覚えるのではなく、英語を英語でとらえる事ができるように感覚を養ってください。
そうすれば、英語で意味がしっくりくるようになります。
基本的に今回の言葉は、
しっかりとした考えを持っている人は、目的を持っている。
そうでない人は、（「～だったらイイなぁ～」と言う）希望を持っている。
こういう感じで考えてもらえば良いと思います。
